About Our Laser
DiolazeXL by InMode, the creators of Morpheus8, is an ultra fast diode hair removal system. It provides a range of pulse modes such as single-pulse, one or two pulses per second, and a Glide Mode that maximizes coverage, ensuring fast and efficient hair removal. This translates to less time spent in the treatment chair for your comfort and convenience.
With its gold standard 810nm diode wavelength, it offers maximal safety up to skin type V, and is powerful enough to target and treat even the most stubborn hair for optimal results.
Thanks to its robust built-in cooling system, the procedure has minimal discomfort. The sapphire tip incorporates advanced 3PC technology, which includes pre-cooling, parallel cooling, and post-cooling, ensuring the utmost comfort during the process.
What To Expect
1. Consultation: Your journey begins with a consultation where your provider will listen to your concerns and formulate a plan based upon your unique skin type and goals.
2. Preparation: Before coming in, we’ll ask you to shave the treatment area. The laser targets the hair follicles beneath the skin, and having longer hair on the surface can absorb the laser energy, reducing its effectiveness.
3. The Procedure: Right before the procedure, your provider will apply ultrasound gel to the treatment areas. This allows the laser to easily glide across your skin. Next, you’ll get to put on protective eyewear to shield your eyes from the laser. Your provider will glide the handheld device across your skin, emitting controlled pulses of energy which are absorbed by the melanin (pigment) in the hair follicles, inhibiting future hair growth.
4. Sensation: Our DiolazeXL laser has a sapphire 3PC cooling tip to help minimize any discomfort, however you may feel some discomfort around sensitive areas. The level of discomfort can vary based on your pain threshold, the area being treated, and how well you shaved beforehand. Most patients find the procedure to be very comfortable and virtually pain-free.
5. Duration: The duration of each session depends on the size of the treatment area. Smaller areas like the upper lip or underarms can take just a few minutes, while larger areas like the legs or back may take longer. Full body laser hair removal takes about 60-70 minutes. Our skilled providers excel at ensuring your laser hair removal treatment is both comfortable and efficient. Additionally, our laser incorporates advanced Glide Mode technology, which accelerates the treatment process, resulting in quicker sessions compared to other laser systems.
6. Multiple Sessions: Laser hair removal typically requires multiple sessions, spaced several weeks apart. This is because hair grows in cycles, and the treatment is most effective when the hair is in the active growth phase. Multiple sessions are necessary to target hair at different stages of growth. We recommend 6 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
7. Aftercare: After the treatment, you may experience some redness, but this is temporary and should subside within a couple of hours. We recommend using sunscreen all the time, but definitely remember to use it on treated areas for 3 weeks following the treatment. Moisturizer can be used after every treatment, and makeup can be applied if the skin is intact. Avoid any active skincare ingredients for the next 7 days.
8. Results: Over the course of your treatment sessions, you should start to see a reduction in hair growth. The results can be long-lasting, but periodic maintenance sessions may be required to keep the area hair-free.
Clinical evaluation results using DiolazeXL’s 810 nm scanning diode laser find that after 3 laser hair removal treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart, the average hair count reduction of about 70% sustains not only at 3 and 6 months but also for 1 year after the last treatment. (DOI: 10.1111/jocd.12757)
